Secure Confidential Document Destruction Services

C.O.P.S. offers the highest level of information security available with confidential shredding performed directly on your premises as you watch the process. Documents are held in locked security containers until they are destroyed, so the information never leaves your supervision. Whether you require scheduled pickups or occasional purges of accumulated files, C.O.P.S. can tailor a program to meet your needs. Confidential on-site document shredding is by far the most time and cost-efficient method of secure information destruction.

C.O.P.S. is an A.A.A. certified member of the National Information for Document Destruction (NAID).

C.O.P.S. offers a variety of services custom designed based on client needs. Talk to a C.O.P.S. security professional today to design a service to meet your business needs.

Scheduled Container Service

Locked storage containers are provided to clients at no charge.

Various sizes and styles of containers are provided to ensure each office’s most efficient and economical solution.

All containers are bar-coded and scanned at the time of destruction, allowing documentation of the exact time and date the container was destroyed. When scanned, the fullness of the container is tracked to ensure customers are placed with the correct pickup frequency.

All containers are equipped with easy access, one-way paper slots.

C.O.P.S. services accounts daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly, depending on the customers’ specific needs.

Upon completion of shredding, all clients are provided with a Certificate of Destruction.

File Boxes and Purges

Many clients use C.O.P.S. for periodic office/storage, cleanouts, or purges.

C.O.P.S. can destroy documents directly from file cabinets or file storage boxes.

No volume is too large or too small for C.O.P.S.

Shredding can take place at an office, storage facility, or at C.O.P.S. service locations. The choice is up to each client.

Upon completion of a cleanout or purge, all clients are provided with a Certificate of Destruction.

Media/Hard Drive Destruction

  • Information contained on most business computer hard drives should not be shared with others.
  • It’s not enough to erase a hard drive or throw away non-functional equipment.
  • Skilled predators are seeking confidential data and are only a few clicks away from its retrieval. Can your business take that risk?
  • A C.O.P.S. security professional can destroy any media (data tapes, VHS, C.D.s, microfilms, microfiche, etc.) or computer hard drives right in front of clients.
  • Upon completing media or hard drive destruction, clients are provided with a Certificate of Destruction from C.O.P.S.

C.O.P.S History

While Todd Shumaker and his brother Mike were busy taking care of the recycling needs of their clients at Midwest Fiber Recycling, they discovered many were inquiring about shredding or document destruction for security purposes. With these requests and the then-pending laws regarding information security, Confidential On-Site Paper Shredding (C.O.P.S.) was born in 2003.

Beginning with one truck in 2003, C.O.P.S. has grown into seven mobile shredding trucks that shred up to 24,000 pounds per hour and are equipped with enclosed automatic bin tippers to eliminate any contact with documents before they are destroyed. The process is closely monitored by trained security professionals, and customers may witness the entire process at their place of business.
