When it comes to the world of recycling, with advancements in technology, and improvements in residential programs, questions naturally arise about what and how to recycle. While residents try to recycle, their questions about the program often remain unanswered, and they aren’t sure where to go for clarification. During Earth Month, 2015, we would like to give you the opportunity to take your recycling questions right to the experts.

On April 22nd, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Midwest Fiber will be teaming up with the City of Bloomington, the Town of Normal, and the Ecology Action Center to provide a recycling Q and A Facebook session.

Anyone with a recycling question can participate by going to Midwest Fiber’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Midwestfiber, connecting with us by liking the page, and then posting a question right to the wall.

Within minutes, the question will be answered by one or more of the experts hosting the session.

We'd love to hear from you!

It takes 95% less energy to recycle aluminum than it does to make it from raw materials. Making recycled steel saves 60%, recycled newspaper 40%, recycled plastics 70%, and recycled glass 40%. These savings far outweigh the energy created as by-products of incineration and landfilling.
